For those who have not heard of Loud.com, hear it is.
Loud is an online Hip-Hop community. It is for emcees, producers, and fans of Hip-Hop. They have a contest for $100,000 & a record deal with SRC Records. Tha first contest is over and 2nd is starting. There is now a producer contest also. Winning producer will get $15,000 & a production deal with SRC Records. SRC is a big record company for anyone who has not heard of them. Steve Rifkind is tha main man in charge there. He is responsible for artists like Wu Tang, Big Pun, Three 6 Mafia, David Banner, Akon, and many more. Tha last contest had 9 finalists, which eventually got narrowed to 4; Tha Crow, Most Official, Franchise, & Killa Kat. Tha Crow came out tha winner of $100,000 & a deal with SRC. Congrats to all 4 of tha final emcees. During tha finals every finalist had a video camera and had to record their every move. They had to do tracks, videos, collabos with big artists, and so much more. In tha end all 4 finalists had to do a collaboration together, which was a good song. How tha contest works is you enter tha tracks you want in for tha next week, then tha community and staff vote a rating of 1 to 5 flamez on it. Then a winner is picked each week, this goes on for 10 weeks. After tha 10 weeks, 3 emcees are advanced to tha finalists and recieve money. One gets $25,000, another $15,000, and last $15,000. All three amounts look pretty damn good to me. Then after 3 are moved on, another 10 week process begins, then at tha end of that 3 more get paid and move on. Then another 10 weeks and 3 more. So in tha end there are 9 finalists. Unless they change that process, it will be tha same as last season.

I was reading tha rules and just read this:

“The Contest consists of ten (10) preliminary rounds from July 1, 2008 through November, 18, 2008 (the “Preliminary Competitions”) and a finalist competition from November 19, 2008 through January 20, 2009 (the “Finalist Competition”). Each Preliminary Competition will consist of a one week “Submission Period” and a one week “Judging Period.” The winners of each Preliminary Competition will move on to compete in the Finalist Competition.”

So it seems to be different than last season..

Once tha finals start, one by one they go untill there is only 1 winner. Tha voting each week is based on a flame rating system, 1 to 5. 1 being wack and 5 being fire. To be considered for a winning spot of that week you must at least have 25 votes or more. Alot of people try to cheat and create multiple account and give themselves votes, but eventually those people get banned, what goes around comes around. Cheaters never come out on top, and if they do they quickly drop.

Last season it happened like this: You enter your tracks for tha next weeks voting, and then tha next week as voting is going on you enter, so they overlap. But this season it is different. You enter your tracks for tha contest, then next week tha community votes. So there is no overlapping. You enter one week, and vote tha next. Tha layout of round winners may be different, but no matter what this is tha ultimate Hip-Hop online community. You can network with emcees, producers, fans, and anyone you on there.

This season is very different. There are to be 10 rounds. And tha timing of entering and voting is different. Where you vote is different. There is a producer contest, which is cool. Now producers along with emcees get to shine. Tha whole site layout and look is different. Tha 2nd contest is much different and very new. But its still Hip-Hop!!

You buy beat credits for very cheap and get beats from producers such as David Banner, Zukan, SP Killa, EP, Sha Money, DJ Khaled, Green Lantern, and so many more. Now you can also browse and use fellow loud users beats that they upload. All you need is internet, computer, and a mic. Any mic that will record. You get one minute to do you thing and tha community votes. This is like tha Hip-Hop MySpace. There are also ‘Mini Contests’ on Loud. They had a contest where tha winner opened a show for Wu Tang, one where you got to spit over Stax Instrumentals and tha winner got $500, and one called ‘T-Shirt Contest’ where tha winner gets a verse on tha song T-Shirt by Shontelle. And they have picked tha winner, Walt Gully. Congrats.. This site is a great site for music fans and artists/producers. You can easily get that online promotion you need as an underground emcee or producers. I started in April 07 and this site has greatly helped me in music. Loud was where I really started recording and developing my flow. I have met alot of talented emcees, producers, friends, and fans. If you have love for Hip-Hop, no matter if you listen, spit, or produce you should check out Loud today.

There is a link to Loud on tha right of this blog site. Go there check it out, sign up, listen, record, vote, and just enjoy Hip-Hop.
Shoutout to SRC, Loud, Pure, Steve Rifkind, Rick Walkup, tha whole staff, and tha whole Loud.com community..
