Colts Beat Jags

Peyton helps to lift tha Indy Colts over tha Jags and clinch Indy a playoff berth. Final score: 31-24. So he finds out he is a Pro Bowl selected player, then goes out and wins an important game to clinch a playoff spot. I’d say this is a pretty good week for Peyton. During halftime Manning asked to his coaches, if they had any suggestions for him and all they replied was “You haven’t thrown any incompletions. Just try to keep doing what your’re doing.” So pretty simple. He outplayed tha Jags D throughout tha game. Peyton was almost perfect thru tha entire game. Peyton completed 17 in a row. This leads Indy to their 8th win in a row and 7th playoff berth in a row. So Indy is a pretty solid team right now

Manning was 29/34 with 364 yards and 3TD’s. With that great performance tha Indy Colts get a 5th seed in tha AFC playoff picture. Tha Jags were on top for most of tha game, or so it seemed by score. But of course, just as I thought tha Colts would pull it off as tha game counts down with strong drives and tight D. They always seem to go down in tha first few quarters, then out of no where win it.

Now there is still tha MVP talk going around and Peyton could sure be it, that was a solid game to argue that he is MVP. I am not a Colts fan at all, but congrats to Indy for this tough win and playoff clinch.

Sam Bradford Wins Heisman Trophy

This years Heisman Trophy winner is Oklahoma Sooners Quarter Back Sam Bradford. Congratulations. Last years winner was one of this years finalists, Flordia Gator QB Tim Tebow. These 2 are tha only 2 sophmores to win the Heisman, if Tebow would have won he would have joined Archie Griffin as tha only two-time winner. Bradford is an accurate passer and very fast at making his decisions on tha field. Tebow & Bradford’s teams- Oklahoma and Flordia - will be meeting on January 8th, 2009 for tha NCAA National Championship. Both teams are 12-1 and will be meeting up in Miami, Flordia. Bradford said: “We’re ready to get back to work to get ready for the 8th,” - “When we started this season, winning the national championship was the first goal we put down as a team.” So that shows confidence of tha Sooners.

In January this National Title game will be only tha 2nd time Heisman winners play against each other. So which was tha 1st? 2005 Orange Bowl- 2004 winner, USC’s Matt Leinart and 2003’s winner, Oklahoma’s Jason White.

Sam Bradford is tha nations leaders in TD passes, with 48. That is an amazing stat for college QB’s. He got a total of 1,726 points. Colt McCoy-Texas’ QB came in 2nd place with 1,604, and 3rd was Tim Tebow with 1,575. Bradford held up tha 25 pound legendary trophy with one hand, tha other in a cast. Tebow actually got more 1st place votes with 309. Bradford had 300 and McCoy 266. A player getting more 1st place votes coming in 3rd hasn’t happned since 1956, when it happened to Tommy McDonald of Oklahoma.

Sam Bradford is now tha 3rd person to win tha Heisman without getting tha most first-place votes. He joins Notre Dame’s Paul Hornung also in 1956 and Oklahoma’s Billy Sims in 1978.

So congrats to Bradford for winning. Congrats to McCoy and Tebow for being finalists. Congrats to Flordia Gators and Oklahoma Sooners..Good luck in tha National Championship..

NFL Week 15 Sunday Games Quick Look

So Thursday Night Football has came and gone with Chicago beating New Orleans in OT 27-24 and maybe ending tha Saints playoff hopes. So lets look at this weeks games:

TAMPA @ ATLANTA
Division, very important game for this time of year. If TB wins, NO and ATL could be done. Tampa will be looking to rebound from last weeks division lose to Carolina. If tha Buccs win then it seems TB and CAR will make tha playoffs, while ATL and NO won’t.

SF @ MIA
Dolphins need to win to stay in tha playoff hunt and division hunt, to keep up with rivals. MIA should beat down this weak 49er D, but who knows? Could SF hurt tha Dolpins season this week? From 1 win to playoff hunt team.

SEA @ STL
Least important game of tha week and maybe tha season. 2 teams with damn near no playoff chance. Division where STL’s new kicker is facing his former team which he helped beat his current team last season. Should be important to these players, but not tha overall league. Julius Jones? Steven Jackson? Avery? Branch? Who will show up to play? Holt??

BUF @ NYJ
Bills could hurt tha Jets here if they pull off a W. Jets could stay strong with a win and keep in tha race. Should be a good game.

SD @ KC
Last time they came down to a missed KC 2pt conversion to win by 1. So SD should not overlook tha Cheifs, who’s passing game is getting better by tha week. Watch out for Bowe and Gonzalez. Chargers could stay within tha playoff hunt barely with a W, or KC could spoil their division rivals chances..

WAS @ CIN
Redskins NEED this game. They should win, but think back a few weeks to tha Bengals TIE with Philly. So ’skins don’t need to be too confident. Portis is healthy, so he should get a good amount of carries after drama with his coach.

TEN @ HOU
Ten has their division, they just need to finish this season and they will be headed to tha playoffs, but they don’t need to overlook tha Texans and Walter/Johnson. Could Houston upset tha once perfect Titians?

GB @ JAC
Packers need to win, Jags need to win. Should be a tough fought game with two strong teams needing to win. Playoffs are getting decided within these final weeks with good games like this.

DET @ IND
So Colts should win, but Lions RB Smith is predicted to demolish this weak Colts rushing D. Colts ’should’ win, but could we see a miracle?

MIN @ ARI
Cards should win this thru tha air with their strong passing game of great wide outs and great QB. But Vikings have a great offense also. This game will come down to defense.

PIT @ BAL
Maybe tha game of tha week. Two very tough teams with very good defenses. Anything could happen in this game. Ravens need their D to keep getting turnovers and need their offense to advance tha ball to be able to have a chance. Should be a great game.

DEN @ CAR
Important game that tha Panthers should win on tha ground and short passes. But don’t forget Denver has good wide outs, but no solid HEALTHY running backs, check their IR. Carolina ’should’ win this and continue on their path to tha post season.

NE @ OAK
Pats should walk all over tha weak Raiders, although don’t forget about Oaklands star Corner back..And Matt is having issues with his fathers passing.

NYG @ DAL
Giants will try to bounce back from their 2nd lose last week to division rival Philly, facing another division rival in Dallas. Last week Romo lost tha game for tha ‘boys, I don’t care what anyone says. I either see tha Giants coming back and fighting to show they are tha defending champs and avenging their L last week, or tha Cowboys pounding tha ball in tha endzone and pulling off a W. Being an Eagles fan, I would love to see tha Giants (who I do not like at all) win just to help Philly out. Division and playoff important.

Monday Night Football

CLE @ PHI
Tha only 2 teams to defeat tha Giants up to week 15 are facing. Browns who lost 2 QB’s within a few weeks are facing tha red hot Eagles who beat 2 great teams in a row. Arizona and New York Giants. Philly looks to continue their run towards tha playoffs and should win this with ease. McNabb is back on it, Westbrook has 2 30+ fantasy point performances, and their D is playing hard. Andy Reid is good at putting together end of season runs and finishing strong. Eagles need to win this game, beat tha Redskins next week, and beat tha Cowboys in week 17, plus ATL needs to lose. So it would be helpful if tha Giants beat tha ‘Boys and Bengals beat tha ‘Skins, and even better if ATL loses to Tampa.

Bears Beat Saints In OT

So Thursday Night Football, Saints vs Bears. Good game. Chicago beats New Orleans with a Field Goal in over time last night. Final score: 27-24. This win greatly helps the close race within the NFC. Panthers and Buccs just got a small boost with this L towards N.O. So Saints fall to 7-7 while Chi-Town goes to 8-6 and keeps playoff hopes alive. If tha Falcons lose one more they are pretty much out of tha playoff picture, especially if tha Philly Eagles win every game from here on out. And Andy Reid is good at putting together end of season streaks, and now McNabb is on fire, Westbrook is destroying defenses, and that Eagles run D is hard to get thru. Matt Ryan and Turner need to turn it up to stay alive. But they are facing Tampa Bay this Sunday, which will be tough for them. Warrick is a hard running back, Williams is playing again, Garcia has a good arm, Bryant is a beast wide out. Plus that D is great, one of tha NFL’s top. I believe tha Buccs will beat tha Falcons, and knock them out of tha race. If not, next week ATL has to travel to tha Vikings and that tough run game with 2 great backs. Thats a game that could go either way. Personally, being an Eagles fan I NEED tha Falcons to lose just one more, Eagles to win their final games and defeat tha Dallas Cowboys in week 17, which is looking very possible with how tha Eagles are playing and Romo’s horrific passing last week that cost Dallas tha game. Plus I’m a Buccs and Panthers fan.

So TNF.

Brees threw 2TD’s and 2INT’s. 24/43 with 232.
Orton threw 0TD’s and 2INT’s. 24/40 with 172.
So although each threw up 2 picks, Brees had a much better game with 2 touchdowns and more overall yards. B Maynard came in and went 0/1, yep you read that right. One pass.

Saints:
Thomas had 22 attempts for 87yds and 1TD.
Bush had 6 attempts for 30yds.

Bears:
Forte had 11 attempts 41yds and 1TD.
Peterson had 5 attempts for 15yds.
Orton had 4 attempts for 6yds and 1TD.

So Saints had 1 Rushing TD and Bears 2. Thomas also caught his share of passes and scored on a recpetion also, so he had a great game.

One game highlight was tha opening kickoff where D Manning of Chicago ran tha kick-off back 83yds for a TD. And Robbie Gould of course had a winning kick in OT plus one in tha 4th to keep them in it. Saints took a hard hit towards playoff hopes. Now if Tampa and Carolina win it could be over..

ESPN Streak For The Cash 2008 Winner!

For anyone who uses ESPN.com’s fantasy section for football, basketball, college, and so on should have heard of the ‘Streak For The Cash’ mini game ESPN has. A quick description of this game is each day you pick a sports match-up, either who will win, which running back will have more yards, point margin, and things along those lines. The ultimate goal is to get a “Streak” of 25 wins by December 31st. You can pick a few games per day, but only one at a time. Whoever can do this gets $1 Million from ESPN. 2nd best streak gets $10,000 and so on. Well, the magic number of 25 in a row has been touched by ‘Bigsam1122′ and he has won himself the money. His real name is Samuel Louis-Charles from Bristol, Conn. ESPN.com/fantasy has a photo of him with one of those oversized checks made out to him. Congrats to Samuel for winning. Now 2nd place is still up for grabs and I just checked and its at 19 and 18 for the following players. Also each month the person with the most wins within that month gets a nice cash prize. If you haven’t checked ESPN.con/fantasy out, go do so and maybe next year sign up for Streak For The Cash. Again congratulations to Bigsam1122 for getting 25, well it says 26 currently and getting that money.
