So what is Labor Day? It is a United States federal holiday on tha first Monday in September. So happy Labor Day!! This holiday originated in 1882. It is pretty much a day off for tha working citizens. So enjoy tha day off school and work! Labor Day became a federal Holiday in 1894. Most Americans view Labor Day as tha end of summer. Many great speeches, events, drives, etc. all take place on Labor Day. One neat fact is that tha Sunday preceding Labor day is called ‘Labor Sunday’ and is all for tha spiritual & educational aspects of tha labor movement.
