Hip-Hop Today..

Published by dynamite under Music Edit This

Hip-Hop..Is it dead?
I say no, not as long as true talented lyricists still live.
There are very few real emcees in mainstream rap today. Tha rest are all underground. Most artists today just follow tha lame ass trend of talking about money, cars, jewelry, girls, houses, etc..For some reason they all think they have to brag on what they have, when honestly I’d bet most of them don’t really have it. For real, who tha fuck cares about your 22’s, your Benz, your shoes, or how much money you have. Cuz most listeners don’t have 22’s, have a cheap lil car, cheap shoes, and can barely pay bills. These dudes don’t realize they look stupid. And now theres this dance/clap/snap phase of Hip-Hop, which I must point out, is NOT Hip-Hop. Its more pop and R&B. You would never see 2Pac, Eminem, DMX, Nas, Ice Cube, Snoop, Rakim, Wu Tang, NWA, KRS-One..Cranking That or Hand Clapping. That shits just straight up wack. And artists such as Ice Cube and KRS point this out in their songs today. Some of tha only talented artists today in my opinion would be Talib Kweli, Chamillionaire, Common, Obie Trice, and some others. ((In your comment tell me who you think is good out of todays game))
Other dudes like Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, MIMS, Shop Boyz, etc.. are not talented. Crank That, A Bay Bay, This Is Why I’m Hot, & Party Like A Rockstar are not good songs, they are songs over promoted, over played, and forced upon tha fans. There is little to no lyrical content in these songs. I have only heard a few songs by Hurricane Chris & MIMS that are average, but those songs won’t get promoted because tha beat isn’t jumpy enough and bullshit like that. But Soulja Boy just straight up has no skill. Everything he has done before and after Crank That, sucks..To put it simple he needs to quit. He is NOT a rapper, not an emcee, and is NOT Hip-Hop. Anyone who thinks his is clearly is supporting tha death of Hip-Hop, and destroying all tha real emcees worked for. Today it is all about money. So if you have money you can be a rapper is what most think. You can just pay a radio promoter to play you, even if you suck. You can pay companies to support you. You can pay for your song to become a hit. Then you will be played a few hundred times a day, every other song, and ringtones everywhere. Most dudes today care about ringtones, and not albums or mixtapes, which is sad. Its a shame what tha industry and game have come to. Money is all they care about, and all they do it for. There is no heart in tha game any more. No more passion for tha music and love for tha industry. Unless someone steps in and fights it mainstream will only be this ringtone rap, dance/clap/snap, fake, pop, R&B, bubblegum bullshit..
Its hard to accept, but Hip-Hop is fading. And as Ice Cube just recently said in an interview with XXL, ‘its going back to tha underground’ Which is pretty much true, except theres still wack rappers there. Fuck, their everywhere..Dudes sayin they tha best, they tha king of tha game, better than anyone else, greatest, and all that shit. When they just need to focus on doing THEIR music tha best and not worrying so much about being tha top cat, tha best, etc. Start caring about your own style, your own lyrics, and yourself and then you will be good. But bragging about your possessions does not make you an emcee, it makes you a fagget. Fuck money, cars, clothes, rims, shirts, shoes, houses, and all that shit. Put some damn heart into your songs and quit frontin..

More to come on this topic..

2Pac

Published by dynamite under Music, Uncategorized Edit This

Since 2Pac’s birthday was yesterday this blog is dedicated to him..
He was not only a rapper and actor, but a very influential person. His lyrics are still very relevant and fit into our society today. He spoke truth thru his lyrics and helped very many people out thru his musically career. He had more than one side, he could be emotional and deep, as in Dear Mama, Keep Ya Head Up, etc. or he could be very mean and aggresive, such as Hit Em Up, Bomb First, When We Ride On Our Enemies. He could also talk about tha struggle of everyday life, like in The Way It Is, Ghetto Gospel. And sometimes he could mix it all together like no other rapper ever has. He has influenced many other rappers throughout tha game, past and present. He stood for THUG LIFE (Tha Hate U Gave Lil Infants Fuck Everybody) and created a plan called Killuminati. Kill+Illuminati. He was one rapper who thru his lyrics fought against Illuminati and their works. He is tha greatest, not just because of his lyrics, but because of his intellegence, worldwide understanding, and realness. When he rapped he did not fake anything, make anything up (like most rappers today) but he just told tha truth and was honest and people could, and still can connect with that. Part of being an emcee is being real and making tha fans feel what you speak. And today artists seem to forget that and just speak on their money, clothes, jewelry, etc.. But Pac was one rapper who never bragged too much, and only spoke on cars and money for a few lines, not WHOLE SONGS to tha point where you can’t stand to hear it anymore, but then you turn tha station and its tha same shit. Artists like Pac had lyrical content to their songs, great hooks, tight beats (most by Johnny J, who is in my opinion one of tha top 5, if not best producer) and amazing flow. Pac was and still is one of a kind. His lyrics are always stolen, style is always jacked, and quotes always stole, but one thing remains true, no rapper has ever done what 2Pac did and still does. He was only 25 when he ‘died’, if in fact he really did pass away that year. There are many theories on who killed him, who had him killed, etc. Such as Suge Knight, Biggie/Puffy/Bad Boy, Cripz, Governement, and more.
Others say he did not die, but still lives. Theories such as tha 7 Day Theory can back this up. Or certain songs played reverse say messages like I’m alive, I’m still alive, etc..And people such as Chuck D say Pac is still out there, others says they have seen him, and Outlawz even in one concert said Pac’s out there, we just can’t tell you where cuz tha feds is watchin..And many of his songs can almost prove he still lives. Examples are: Ambitionz As A Ridah, Against All Odds, Street Fame, Ghost, Ain’t Hard 2 Find, and so many more, if not all of his tracks. He had a group called ‘The Outlawz’ who are still together today, just not tha same roster. Tha original Outlawz are: Kadafi, EDI, Hussein Fatal, Napoleon, Young Noble, Kastro, Mussolini (Big Skye), Komani (Mopreme Shakur, Pac’s step brother), & Storm. Today they consist of: Young Noble, EDI, Kastro, & Stormy. They have just joined Young Buck at Cashville Records. Kadafi died just after Pac, Hussein still raps but now solo, Napoleon quit tha rap game, Big Skye still raps, Komani still raps..Johnny J was Pac’s number one producer. He was planned to produce tha majority of Pac’s tracks thru his and tha Outlawz career, just as he had been doing. 2Pac and Biggie are tha two who began tha East/West beef of tha 90’s. It has been said it started like this; Puffy asked Pac to join Bad Boy, Pac turned them down, Puffy and Bad Boy took it as disrepect and Pac was shot 5 times in 94, Pac said they did it, of course they said they had nothing to do with it. So soon after tha shooting, 2Pac and tha Outlawz recorded and released tha hardest and greatest diss song in Hip-Hop history, “Hit Em Up” Pac said things like, “I fucked your wife” This officially began tha beef. Pac dissed many artists and groups along with Biggie and Bad Boy, like Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, Fugees, Nas, Chino XL, Da Brat, and more. Tha beef was ended right before he passed with Nas, but he never ended it with Jay. Then Jay got on Pac’s album ‘Better Dayz’ which pissed alot of people off, including tha Outlawz because they know Pac still hated and always would hate Jay. So they dissed Jay-Z. Then he has enough nerve to take Pac’s song ‘Me And My Girlfriend’ and him and Beyonce use tha hook. Which is very ignorant on Jay’s part. He knew Pac hated him, they had beef, but continued to use Pac and get money outta him. Many artists today act as if they do what they do for tha love of Pac, but tha just say his name to bring them more attention and money. They are being very disrespectful to Pac, Outlawz, and everything they stood for and did for Hip-Hop. And tha production and mixing of 2Pac’s albums and songs today is horrible. They are ruining and editing what they should not. Tha ONLY producer who should have rights to touch Pac’s songs should be Johnny J. Pac picked him to be his producer then and he should be now. 2Pac had tha alias Makaveli, which he got from Machiavelli. He repeatedly said things such as, I can only return as Makaveli not 2Pac. And if you listen to tribute songs by people close to him they rarely, if never say Makaveli Rest In Peace, only 2Pac Rest In Peace, and Makaveli Lives On..So this plays into tha theory of him being alive. So for now I’m going to end this post with saying how much respect I have for 2Pac, Outlawz, Johnny J, and all tha rest..
